Nueva Abogada - New Lawyer

Solamente una breve noticia: Luego de muchos años de estudio, finalmente este año completé los mismos recibiendo el título de abogada. ¡Qué felicidad!

Just a short announcement: After many years of study, I finally completed them this year receiving my degree as lawyer. What a joy!

Mi maestro insiste en que todo pintor debe hacerse un autorretrato al menos una vez al año. Siempre he sido un tanto renuente a seguir su consejo al respecto, pero finalmente aproveché la oportunidad de hacer mi primer autorretrato acompañada de mi gato Peuque como un ejercicio de pintura estilo impresionista (como originalmente no lo pensaba conservar, fue hecho sobre papel).

My master insists that every painter should make his self-portrait at least once a year. I've been always somewhat reluctant to follow his advice on this matter, but finally I did the first one together with my cat Peuque as an exercise in painting impressionist style (as I was not planing to keep it, it was done on paper).

Sueños de Jovencita - Girl's Dreams

He estado un tanto ausente de mi blog, de hecho esta es mi primera publicación en lo que va del año (y ya no falta tanto para que termine)... La razón es que este año he comenzado varios proyectos simultáneamente, por lo cual los resultados van a empezar a aparecer recién ahora.

I've been somewhat absent from my blog, in fact this is my first publication so far this year (and 2012 is almost over) ... The reason is not that I have been lazy, bu that this year I have started many projects simultaneously, so the results will begin to appear just now.

Esta obra que acabo de finalizar continúa mi línea romántica: la joven se despereza abandonando su sueño poblado con personajes de cuentos de hadas, y como podría decir un psicólogo, moviéndose de su infancia a su adultez.

This work I just completed follows my romantic style: This work continues just completed my romantic line: a young lady stretching up leaving her dreams populated with fairy tales characters, or as a shrink might say, moving away from childhood to adulthood.

Esta obra que acabo de finalizar (aún sin barnizar), sigue mi línea romántica: está inspirada en una joven aristócrata italiana, la Condesa Isabella Borromeo Arese Taverna, que mas allá de su fortuna familiar y la de su marido (Ugo Brachetti Peretti, Anonima Petroli Italiana), vive inmersa en una especie de cuento de hadas en pleno siglo XXI.

This work I just completed (varnish not yet applied), follows my romantic style: inspired by a young Italian aristocrat, Countess Isabella Borromeo Arese Taverna, that beyond her family's and her husband's fortune (Ugo Brachetti Peretti, Anonima Petroli Italiana), is living immersed in a XXI century's fairy tale.

¡Una agradable noticia! Mi obra Corazón del Océano ha sido seleccionada entre las veinte finalistas del Concurso de Pintura Figurativa ArtRoad 2011 donde será expuesta a partir del diez de noviembre. Ahora solamente queda esperar el veredicto del jurado que se conocerá el trece de noviembre próximo.
A pleasant new! My work Hearth of the Ocean has been selected as one of the twenty finalist in ArtRoad 2011's Figurative Painting Contest where it is going to be exhibited starting November tenth. Now, I just should wait the jury decision on  November thirteenth.

Soy una romántica, lo sé y me gusta. Por lo tanto aproveché la ocasión al hacer un estudio con luces suaves en un ambiente intimista para recordar una de mis películas favoritas. ¿Adivinan cuál? Sí, Titanic, la película con Kate Winslet (Rose DeWitt) y Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson).
I am a romantic, I know it and I like it. So I fetch the opportunity to do a study with soft lighting in an intimate atmosphere to remember one of my favorites movies. Do you guess which one? Yes, Titanic, the movie with Kate Winslet (Rose DeWitt) and Leonardo DiCaprio (Jack Dawson).

Con esta obra inauguro mi año artístico. En principio este iba a ser un año mayormente destinado a estudiar y terminar mi carrera de abogacía, sin embargo todos mis proyectos tomaron un giro inesperado cuando surgió una vacante en el taller de Ricardo Celma, y finalmente mi amor por la pintura y el deseo de seguir aprendiendo pudieron más que mis planes originales.
Es mi primer retrato y debo agradecerle a mi querido esposo Roberto, quién pacientemente se prestó (y se arriesgó) a que lo "inmortalizara" en esta obra. 

This is my first paint of the year. In the beginning, this would have been a year mainly dedicated to study and finish my law studies, but all my plans took an unexpected turn when a vacancy was produced at Ricardo Celma's workshop, and finally my love for painting and the desire to keep learning make me change original plans.
It's my first portrait and I must thank my dear husband Roberto, who patiently collaborate (and risked) to be "immortalized" in this work.

Petiso de polo - Polo pony

 Hace tiempo (2 o 3 años) que me había prometido a mí misma hacer algo sobre este caballo de polo, y aunque originalmente planeaba hacerlo en óleo, finalmente lo concreté en acuarela.

No tengo mayores datos sobre este petiso, aunque con ese pelaje no demasiado común entre los caballos de polo, no debería ser difícil identificarlo (¿o es solamente una suposición optimisticamente desinformada?). El polista usaba una camiseta del Palm Beach Polo International Club, pero en una práctica eso no es realmente significativo ni aporta mayores datos sobre su nacionalidad ni sobre la identidad del petiso.

Some time ago (2 or 3 years) I promised myself to do something about this polo pony, my first intention was to paint it on oil, but finally I made it in watercolor.

I have no data about this pony, but with its uncommon coat color among polo horses, it should not be difficult to make an identification (or is just an non educated guess?). The rider uses the  Palm Beach Polo International Club uniform, but in a practice this is of no real meaning nor helps to identify its nationality or the horse's identity.

Ya comienza el período de exámenes, así que de aquí a fin de año no es probable que  suba nada nuevo, excepto que en algún rato libre termine un par de trabajos ya empezados.
He recibido dos pedidos de traducir los textos al inglés, lo cual he completado hoy (espero que el resultado sea mejor que el de Google Translator). También, agrandé las imágenes, espero que les guste.

Examination time is here, so from now on to year end don't expect to see anything new, maybe a couple of works I already started that can be finished in not so much free time.

I have received two requirements to translate texts into english, and I have done it today (I hope the results are better than Google Translator's). Also, I enlarged pictures, I hope all you like it.

Finalizó la exposición (expuse mis caballitos), y ya he vuelto a la normalidad, me quedan las fotografías (no las suficientes), así como el recuerdo de las magníficas obras en exposición, la cordialidad y amabilidad de los otros expositores en general y de los grandes maestros en particular. Una grata experiencia. Encontrarán más detalles en "Exposiciones - Exhibitions".

The exhibition is over (I presented my little horses), and now I am back to normal life, I got many pictures (not enough of them), and memories of the beautiful works exhibited, the warm and kindness of the other artists in general and the great masters in particular. A really nice experience. More details in "Exposiciones - Exhibitions".

Primavera - Spring

Les presento a Primavera, una yegüita muy joven con la cual me encontré al comienzo de nuestra primavera (austral) muy entretenida comiendo flores...
Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde mi última entrada, pero he estado realmente ocupada: estuve investigando y estudiando nuevas técnicas (para mí) en óleo, y he aquí el resultado de un mes de trabajo. El uso de veladuras me ha reconciliado con el óleo y comienzo a sentirme casi tan cómoda como con la acuarela (pero no la abandonaré).

Adicionalmente, al aumentar el tamaño de la obra, me permite trabajar en los detalles con mayor facilidad.

Let me introduce Primavera (Spring), a young filly I met at the beginning of our spring (austral) quite concentrated eating flowers...

It has been quite a long time since my last participation, but I have been busy: I have been investigating and learning new techniques (for me) in oil painting, and this is the product of a whole month work. The use of glazing got me back to a more friendly relation with oil painting and now I begin to to feel as comfortable as with watercolor (but I am not going to abandon it).

Additionally, working on a larger area, let me work easily on details.

Noruega - Norway

Para mi primer óleo, elegí un hermoso paisaje con una cabaña en la ribera de un lago noruego. Tengo que tener paciencia, el óleo tiene sus tiempos (pero perdona errores), no es lo mismo que la acuarela...

For my first oil painting, I choose a beautiful landscape with a hut on the shore of a Norwegian's lake. I should be patient, oil has its own times (but forget mistakes), it is not like watercolor...

Pura Sangre

En la curva del hipódromo, los cascos de los caballos golpean el suelo empujándolos hacia adelante. Me encantan los caballos y la acción.

In a curve of the hippodrome,  horses' hooves hit the soil pushing them forward. I love horses and action.

Patos - Ducks

I like these ducks for the colors and the patterns of their feathers. I got my watercolors, and here you have them.

Acuarela de mi gato (también tengo una gata). Se llama Peuque Niños, pero como suele sucederle a quién tiene nombres tan complicados, lo llamamos Tito.

My cat's watercolor (also I have a female). His name is Peuque Niños, but as it usually happens to the bearers of so complicated names, we call him Tito.
